The Site is operated by the Crown acting by and through the New Zealand Flag Consideration Panel Secretariat within the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (the Secretariat) for the purpose of the project to consider a new flag for New Zealand (the Flag Consideration Project).
Prohibited access and use
The Site and the content, information and materials on the Site (Content) may be accessed via standard web browsers only. Access to the Site or Content by any other method (including, without limit, by scraping, harvesting, copying pages or functionality, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering or extraction method) is prohibited except with the prior written consent of the Secretariat.

Moderation and removal of published content.
When you participate and/or otherwise use the Site, you must be respectful and considerate of others, and you must remain on topic and avoid the use of profanity or offensive or derogatory language, symbols and images.
For protection of users we will remove your content from the Site if it breaches the following protocol or is otherwise considered by the Secretariat to be inappropriate:
- the text shared by an individual contains offensive, derogatory or abusive language;
- content shared by a user contains offensive or derogatory symbols or images or is considered to be offensive and/or potentially harmful to others;
- an image or statement being used is in breach of any person’s intellectual property right or any other applicable law; or
The copyright in all Content contained or available on the Site is subject to the copyright laws of New Zealand.
Unless content is submitted by another user or is identified as being the property of another party, copyright in Content on the Site belongs to the Crown through the Secretariat.
You are free to use, store, copy and reproduce Crown Copyright content from the Site for non-commercial purposes as long as you acknowledge the Site as the source and include the document URL and its “last updated” date in your citation.
No commercial use or reproduction may be made of the Contents of this Site without the written permission of the Secretariat.
If you wish to use any Content submitted by any other user or identified as belonging to a third party on the Site you must obtain the prior written consent of the relevant owner of that Content.
Users acknowledge that by uploading their ‘stand for’ message and image to standfor.co.nz, they grant the Secretariat the non-exclusive right to share those messages publicly as part of the Flag Consideration Project either on the Site and in any other advertising collateral the Secretariat deems appropriate, including on other websites and using social media.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Secretariat disclaims and excludes all liability for any claim, loss, demand or damages of any kind whatsoever (including for negligence) arising out of or in connection with the use of either the Site or the Content on the Site or on any website to which it is linked.
Continuity of service
The Secretariat makes no warranty or representation, express or implied, as to continuity of service in relation to the Site and reserves the right to suspend, terminate or otherwise alter access to some or all of the Site’s services at any time and without notice.
